Ed Coleman's career covering the Mets for WFAN and WCBS 880 began when John Franco was in the fourth of his 14 years as a fixture in the Mets bullpen.
Saturday night, it officially ended with a strike thrown to arguably the greatest closer in Mets history:

Later, after a video tribute on the Citi Field scoreboard, took the rubber Franco took so many times as a Met and fired one right into the lefty's mitt behind the plate. And, perhaps most fittingly, Howie Rose was in the booth to call it:
