Joe and Evan are back, and so are the Mets.
As New York continues to roll towards the postseason, the two former co-hosts were back together again as Joe filled in for Craig on Thursday afternoon, and rightfully so, much of the talk was about the surging Mets.
"I can't believe this team is 73-39," Evan said. "I said this last night on Twitter and I really believe it, from my lifetime, because I don't remember '86 and '88, this team right now is the greatest Met team I've ever seen."
Joe, a more seasoned Mets fan, was around for the 1986 team, the last Mets squad to win a World Series, so he can't make the same declaration, but he agrees that it's the best Mets team of Evan's lifetime.
"This is the best Mets team since '86," Joe said. "I don't know how the rest of the year is gonna play out…clearly, this is the best team since '86. They are unbelievable.
"This team has won 15 of their last 17 games, they've won six in a row. Unbelievable."
