The Braves won again on Wednesday afternoon, cutting the Mets' lead atop the NL East to just 1.5 games.
Should New York be worried? Boomer and Gio have conflicting beliefs about that.
"How can you not be worried?" a concerned Gio said. "They're a game and a half back, they don't lose, they're the defending champs…it's too close for comfort.
"If you look at the Braves schedule, it is tougher than the Mets schedule…but it's not that formidable. They do go out to the west coast and play the Mariners and Giants. They have some really bad teams as well."
Boomer isn't as worried, and says the Mets are still in the driver's seat to win their first division title since 2015.
"I'm not worried about the Braves," Boomer said. "Their schedule gets a little tougher, the Mets schedule gets a little bit of a breather.
"This is it. this is the run that you have to play your best baseball right now in order to get where you want to get to in the new expanded playoff format."
