Tiki says NL East is now up in the air: 'The Braves are sneaking up'

After losing both games of this week's Subway Series, the Mets' division lead over the defending champs is now down to just two games.

Fortunately for New York, a very soft part of the schedule awaits in the coming weeks, save for a home series against the Dodgers, but Tiki still believes the Mets are now in a dogfight with the Braves.

"All of a sudden, this division, which felt like it was in the Mets control after the Phillies series and this supposed easy series against the Yankees, the division is now up in the air for the Mets," Tiki said.

"If you're the Mets right now, there's bigger fish to fry other than worrying about bragging rights for the Subway Series."

Tiki believes he would have felt the same way even if the Mets completed their ninth-inning rally in Tuesday's series finale and came away with an improbable win, and regardless of Tuesday night's outcome, New York is now in a big-time battle to avoid a Wild Card series.

"It's not even about whether they won or lost or who they are, because we know who they are," Tiki said. "My point is, the Braves are sneaking up."
