Boomer: Mets can't get out of New York for road swing soon enough
The Mets ended their season-opening homestand with a walk-off win over the Tigers on Thursday, but they still conclude that home stretch with a miserable 1-5 record in which there was next to no offense throughout.
Now New York hits the road to take on the Reds, and Boomer says the team's flight out of Queens couldn't have come quickly enough.
"If there were ever a team that needs to get out of town and bond, get away from the negativity and the fanbase, it is the New York Mets," Boomer said. "They need to have what the Yankees had. They got away to start the season, had bonding opportunities, and won games late.
"They just need to get out of here. They need to have a little team bonding and get away from the negativity."
