Carlos Carrasco exited Wednesday’s rough outing with back tightness in the third inning, but the veteran righty doesn’t seem too worried that he could miss any time.
“No concern,” Carrasco said. “I think I’m gonna be fine. Just wait until tomorrow, and we’ll go from there.”
Carrasco was bombed for three home runs in Wednesday’s start, and the training staff came out after a pitch in the third inning, and Carrasco left with him. Injuries derailed his debut season with the Mets last year, and the starting rotation is already thin with Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom working their way back, while Tylor Megill is still shut down for at least three more weeks.
Fortunately, it seems as if Carrasco won’t need to be the latest Mets starter to hit the IL.
