Citi Field had little to cheer about to start Friday night's game, falling behind quickly 2-0 in the first inning, but it was a much different vibe to begin Saturday's elimination game.
After Jacob deGrom mowed through the Padres in the top of the first, Francisco Lindor crushed a Blake Snell slider into the left field seats for a no-doubt home run to put the Mets up 1-0 in a must-win game two.
The crowd, waiting for a reason to cheer after Friday's lopsided loss, erupted as Lindor's homer sailed into the New York night, the first big postseason moment for the Mets' $341 million man.
After struggling in some big spots down the stretch of the regular season, Lindor came up big when the Mets needed a momentum setter.
