The Mets exercised their club option on Carlos Carrasco on Thursday, but according to Jon Heyman, they will not be extending the qualifying offer to another starting pitcher.

Per Heyman, the Mets decided against extending the $19.65 million qualifying offer to Taijuan Walker, who opted out of his deal earlier this week.
Walker opted out of a $7.5 million player option, and will now hit free agency.

Walker is one of many Mets starting pitchers who could be on the move this winter, as ace Jacob deGrom is one of the highest profile free agents on the market. Chris Bassitt could also be on the move.

Walker pitched to a 3.49 ERA this past season in 157.1 innings.
