Francisco Lindor finished the first half of his second Mets season with a .743 OPS and a .245 batting average, much better than the .225 average and .698 OPS he posted in the first half of his debut season in New York.
Still, they aren't quite the superstar numbers many Mets fans are expecting from their $341 million shortstop, and it wasn't enough to get Lindor his fifth All-Star nod. But Lindor still sounds satisfied with what he's been able to do so far in 2022.
"I would say an 'OK' first half," Lindor said, via Mike Puma of the New York Post. "I would give it a 'B.' Health-wise I am there. I have had a healthy first couple of months."
Lindor showed signs of getting back to the offensive production he boasted during his time with Cleveland in a fast start to the 2022 season, but he posted a lowly .617 OPS in June, bringing his numbers down to where they are now. Still, Lindor is approaching the All-Star break with optimism for what's to come.
"I'm happy with where I am at," Lindor told Puma. "I didn't have the numbers to be an All-Star, according to everybody. I am happy for the guys who made it, they deserve it, [Dansby] Swanson and [Trea] Turner have had fantastic years. A lot of people have put up good numbers and that is good for the league.
"It sucks for those guys that didn't make it, however the season doesn't really finish here. We have still got a long way to go and I am happy for the ones that made it for sure. It's an honor. It's a dream."
