BT: Francisco Lindor still not buying Jeff McNeil a car doesn't reflect well as a teammate

Jeff McNeil told The 7 Line on Thursday night that he still hasn’t received a car from teammate Francisco Lindor as a fulfillment of Lindor’s promise that he would gift him one for winning the batting title, but he is “sure” Lindor will follow through soon enough.

BT doesn’t share that optimism.

“He’s just a mooch. That’s it,” BT said of Lindor. “What the hell is he waiting for to cash in on the bet?”

BT also doesn’t believe McNeil truly thinks that car is coming.

“McNeil is uncomfortable,” BT said after watching the interview. “The body language, when you tense up or straighten up, it’s identifiable, it’s almost a position to deflect. I see McNeil doing that.

“He doesn’t think the car is coming. And deep down, I think he’s pissed off. There is an expiration point. When you promise something to someone, you gotta do it within - or else it’s hollow.”

Plenty of fans commented on the video clip, declaring that the unresolved car is a reason for the team’s struggles, and that of Lindor and McNeil specifically, as neither have been hitting to their standards this season.

BT isn’t going to say that they’re wrong.

“I gotta tell you, everybody’s right,” BT said. “There’s an added heaviness…I don’t know how to quantify that consciousness.

“It doesn’t speak well to Lindor as a teammate. It just doesn’t.”
