Mets fans only got to see half a game on Friday night, rain ending a 4-0 Amazins loss to Atlanta after five innings – and because of that, they'll get a chance to see a full one later in the year.
The Mets announced shortly after what was barely an official game was called for the night just after 10 p.m. that "as a thank you to our fans, anyone holding a ticket for tonight's game against Atlanta will receive a voucher for a ticket to another Monday-Thursday Mets 2023 regular season home game at Citi Field (excluding the June 13–14 Subway Series vs. Yankees), subject to availability."
Per the team, a digital voucher will be loaded into each patron's My Mets Tickets account and will be accessible Saturday morning.
The Mets and Braves were scoreless going into the fifth, but Ronald Acuna smacked an RBI single with two on and two outs off David Peterson, and Matt Olson followed with a three-run homer. The Mets went down in the bottom of the fifth before the game was delayed just after 8:30 p.m., and after about 90 minutes, the game was called, and officially a rain-shortened 4-0 win for Atlanta.
The two teams are scheduled to play Saturday afternoon, but the rain that ended Friday night's game is expected to continue throughout the day, making that start perilous as well.
