Giancarlo Stanton's walk-off grand slam wasn't the only notable slam by a New York hitter on Tuesday night.
Shortly before Stanton's heroics, Francisco Lindor jumped on a first-pitch sinker from Taylor Rogers and drilled it to left-center field for a go-ahead grand slam, turning a 4-3 deficit into a 7-4 lead for the Mets in the seventh inning in Milwaukee.
"I wasn't trying to do too much," Lindor said. "Thank God it went out."
With New York trying to hang on to a one-game lead in the NL East, and the streaking Braves putting the finishing touches on a win over the Nationals, the Mets needed a win over the playoff-hopeful Brewers, and thanks to Lindor's game-winning slam and Pete Alonso's three-run blast earlier in the game, New York still holds its one-game lead, and a six-game winning streak.
"One of the best things that we have is that we can turn the page extremely quick," Lindor said.
