Seven weeks ago, the Mets designated struggling pitcher Jake Reed for assignment after he allowed eight runs in 6.1 innings of work in his brief 2022 stint.
Fast forward to Tuesday night, and Reed was on for the Dodgers to face his former team, protecting a one-run lead in the ninth inning. The 29-year-old, who Los Angeles had DFA'd itself last season, pitched a scoreless ninth around one hit to lock down the save, and let out a primal roar on the infield grass at Citi Field when the win was sealed.

It was Reed's first career save.
"A crazy full circle," Reed said on the field after the game as rain poured down in Queens. "Just an incredible game to be a part of….being back here in New York, just an awesome game, and just thankful to be a part of it."
