The reeling Mets have another injury to deal with, as the oft-injured Luis Robert Jr. has been placed on the 10-day IL with lumbar spine disc herniation.

It marks the 10th time in the past seven seasons that Robert has been shelved with an injury.

Before being sidelined with the back issue that the team initially hoped would not require an IL stint, Robert was holding a .656 OPS with two home runs. His previously praised defense in center field had seemingly taken a step back in his debut season in Queens, particularly his arm.

Infielder Eric Wagaman was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move. In an additional move, the Mets promoted righty Austin Warren and designated reliever Carl Edwards Jr. for assignment.

Robert joins the likes of Francisco Lindor and Marcus Semien as key Mets position players out with injury, while Juan Soto just returned from a calf strain.
