The Mets now have a second prospect headed to the Futures Game, as third baseman/outfielder Mark Vientos has been named to the NL roster to replace injured Giants prospect David Villar.

Vientos, 22, is slashing .251/.337/.489 with 15 homers and 41 RBI in 63 games at Triple-A Syracuse, and there has been speculation he may soon be called up to bolster a struggling Mets offense.
For now, he joins catcher Francisco Alvarez – another rumored call-up option – on the NL’s roster for the game on Saturday, July 16.
