Max Scherzer has set the date for his Mets return.
The veteran righty said, via MLB.com's Anthony DiComo, that he will make his return from the IL on Tuesday against the Reds after making his final rehab start on Wednesday night for Double-A Binghamton.
Scherzer has been out since the middle of May after abruptly leaving a start with a strained oblique. He made two rehab starts and said after Wednesday's outing that he was ready to return to the big-league club.
Scherzer holds a 2.54 ERA on the season.
