Mets fans, and baseball fans who want to watch the best pitcher in the game, were hoping for good news as they awaited Jacob deGrom's MRI results, but the verdict was a deflating one.
The Mets announced Friday that the MRI revealed a stress reaction in deGrom's scapula, meaning he wouldn't throw for at least four weeks before being reevaluated.
After a season full of injuries last season, deGrom will not be on the bump for New York on Opening Day.
The reaction on social media was understandably somber, as fans will have to wait and see when they will finally get to see the superstar and two-time Cy Young Award winner take the bump in 2022.
Jacob deGrom is the best starting pitcher ever to be cursed by a mummy.
