Pete Alonso picked a good time for his first career playoff home run.
Right after the Padres tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the fifth, Alonso turned on the first pitch of the bottom of the fifth and crushed a no-doubt homer into the left field seats to put the Mets right back on top, 3-2.
Alonso crushed 40 home runs during the regular season and was seen as a pivotal component to New York's playoff success. After a quiet night in Friday's loss, some of the Mets' big bats woke up in game two, with Francisco Lindor also going deep in game two.
