Pete Alonso didn't go deep in Monday's win over the Dodgers, but he did finish 3-for-5 at the plate to continue his torrid start to the season.
For Tiki and Tierney, Alonso's big night was another case for the Mets slugger to potentially be the league's next 60 home run hitter, even as soon as this season.
"We are halfway through April, and he's already on pace for 12 through April," Tiki said. "You can at least start thinking 60."
Alonso is on pace to even eclipse 70 home runs at this rate, sitting with eight bombs in just 65 at-bats, so even though it's still early, it's hard not to think about another home run record chase in New York this summer.
"I think you have to think 60 a little bit," BT said. "When you have eight through 65 plate appearances, and he already has shown who he is, I think you start to think about 60, no matter how crazy it sounds."
