The Mets have signed former Yankee slugger Luke Voit to a minor league deal, the team announced on Monday, and he will report to Triple-A Syracuse and be active on Tuesday.

Voit, 32, was released by the Brewers last week after being designated for assignment. He hit just .221 with a .548 OPS and no home runs in 74 plate appearances with Milwaukee this season.

The 2020 major league home run champ, Voit was an improbable gem for the Yankees when he was acquired from the Cardinals in 2018, posting an .883 OPS with 68 home runs in four seasons with New York. But as injuries derailed his 2021 campaign, the Yankees moved on with Anthony Rizzo and Voit went on to spend time with the Padres and Nationals.

Since leaving the Yanks, Voit is batting .225 with a .691 OPS and 22 home runs in 157 games.
