Mets top prospect Francisco Alvarez, also the top prospect in baseball, is at it again.
After the catcher launched a no-doubt, walk-off home run last week, Alvarez outdid himself on Wednesday night with an absolute missile against the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs.
Unfortunately, there was no distance given on the long ball, but it was a first-pitch annihilation off the bat of Alvarez, who crushed the first pitch of the seventh inning from Michael Plassmeyer and watched it fly.
It was the fourth home run at Triple-A for Alvarez, though Mets general manager Billy Eppler said there are no plans as of now to bring him up to the big leagues.
