Sal came out of a commercial break in full troll mode on Friday, breaking out his own chant over audio of the Braves "chop" theme.
"ChOOOOOOoooooOOOOOooookeee," Sal chanted, rubbing it in the faces of Braves fans for choking away a 104-win season after being knocked out of the NLDS by the rival Phillies for the second straight season.
"The Atlanta Braves doing what they do! It's been going on for 30 years," Sal said. "'The best team in baseball, the Braves can't be beat,' and again, the Braves go away with just one lone postseason win. The Atlanta Braves, choking again like they always do."
BT suggested that Sal would have traded places with Braves fans in a heartbeat this season when comparing Atlanta's division title season to the Mets being one of the biggest disappointments the sport has ever seen, but Sal lived through the Mets blowing a 101-win campaign in their first playoff series just last year, and he doesn't want any part of it.
"Nah," Sal said. "Not to go out like that."
Sal says he typically doesn't bask in the failures of his rivals, especially when his team is already out, but when it comes to the Braves, he is making an exception.
"Generally, I don't care, but the Braves fans made it personal last year," Sal said. "So I'm returning the favor. All the trash talk last year about winning the division, and a quick out. This year, 'LOL Mets, Mets are clowns,' blah blah blah…out again! You choked again!"
