Another rock bottom moment for the Mets calls for another Sal Licata rant, as he was unsurprisingly livid after New York dropped its series finale against the Brewers.
"The Mets are pathetic," Sal said. "I don't know how many more ways we can say it…this is the worst season in the history of the Mets' pathetic franchise. The worst!
"I've said it time and time again, the expectations versus results. That's what makes things good or bad."
But the time has come to stop ranting and venting. It's simply time to acknowledge that the season is over, and has surpassed even the most unthinkable worst-case scenario outlooks that fans may have had before the season started.
"Not only are the Mets not gonna be in the postseason, their season is done before July 1!" Sal said. "How is that even possible?? Even the most negative of Mets fans would have drawn up a season and said, 'They'll win 81 games and be a .500 team.' That would have been bad! This is un-freaking-believable, how pathetic they are!"
