Sal: Mets can make World Series run, need to 'definitively' go all in at trade deadline

After the Mets won in thrilling fashion against the Braves on Thursday night, Sal is ready to say that the ceiling on New York's season has officially been removed.

"There should be no limitations placed on the 2024 New York Mets. That's it. Definitive," Sal said.

"Go all in. There should be no reason why this Mets team can't believe or can't try to get to and win a World Series."

Sal doesn't want to hear about the future anymore. With Steve Cohen's money, the Mets should be able to take on contracts of players that can help the team right now, and with the right moves, who's to say that this team can't stun the baseball world and make a run to the Fall Classic?

"When you think about where the sport is at and what's in front of them…nobody can tell me definitely that the Mets can't go out there and win a World Series," Sal said. "I think that means more than just some bullpen help at the trade deadline.

"The New York Mets, definitively, need to be all in. I don't mean just a bullpen arm or two. I mean the best bullpen arm or two, and an outfielder."
