BT: Should Mets be concerned about Francisco Lindor, Starling Marte?

The Mets' shutout loss to the Nationals on Tuesday night highlighted some potential concerns for BT when it comes to two of the team's key hitters.

Specifically, Francisco Lindor and Starling Marte.

Marte, an All-Star last season with New York, went hitless in four at-bats, dropping his season batting average to .227 with a lowly .638 OPS. Marte, who was a late arrival to spring training due to offseason surgery, recently missed time with a neck injury, and BT isn't sure if Marte is healthy right now.

"Are we concerned with Marte?" BT said. "Not so much his production, but are we sure that he's healthy?"

Meanwhile, Lindor went 1-for-4 on the night, and he holds a batting average of just .222 on the season, though with a much more respectable .786 OPS. But BT thinks Lindor' numbers aren't indicative of how hot and cold he has a tendency to be since joining the Mets.

"Lindor is a little too streaky for me," BT said. "I feel like the 18 RBI is a little misleading, and he's just a streaky guy.

"The way he gets to the numbers…Lindor is a really good player, I just feel like he's quiet and then he goes nuts for two games. He's just streaky. I don't like that."
