Starling Marte appears to be making the most of his time during the MLB lockout, recently posting a video to his Instagram that shows himself riding a horse on a beach and wearing a cowboy hat.
While Marte is living his best offseason live, Mets fans don't seem to be enjoying it nearly as much, instead letting the sight of Marte on horseback take them back to memories of Yoenis Cespedes.
Like Marte, Cespedes was a major outfield acquisition for the Mets, only he helped carry New York to a division title and a World Series berth, which earned him a four-year, $110 million deal. But injuries followed, most notably an ankle injury in 2019 that was later revealed to be the result of an accident on his ranch, where Cespedes stepped into a hole while trying to sidestep a wild boar.

Just keep him away from any wild boars

At the time, Cespedes was recovering from surgery on both of his heels, and wound up not playing in a single game in 2019, after appearing in just 38 the year before.
Marte, 33, signed a four-year, $78 million deal with the Mets this past offseason. Mets fans are hoping he avoids any holes during his horseback riding.
