J.D. Martinez will sit for 3-5 days after receiving a cortisone shot to treat lower back tightness, and the news did not come as a surprise to Tiki.
“I told you. You signed a damaged player,” Tiki said. “I said this in the Mets chat. I said this like a week and a half ago…you bought damaged goods, and now we know why.”
Evan, like plenty of Mets fans, had been waiting for the veteran DH to make his debut and bring some much-needed pop to the designated hitter position, but now, it looks like that wait will be even longer.
“I support the signing, but this is what happens when you’re 37-38 years old,” Evan said. “I still wonder what he was doing during the offseason. Was he trying to get ready for the baseball season?”
