Jacob deGrom wasn’t the only Mets pitcher rehabbing in Syracuse on Wednesday.

Trevor May, who has been sidelined since May 4 with a stress reaction in his arm, pitched the seventh inning of Syracuse’s loss to Omaha Wednesday afternoon, allowing one run on one hit and striking out one in an inning of work.
May threw 11 of his 18 pitches for strikes, but also uncorked a wild pitch that allowed Drew Waters to score after Waters had singled and stolen both second and third bases.
This was May’s second rehab outing, as he had thrown an inning for Double-A Binghamton on Sunday, and according to Mets manager Buck Showalter, the “last hurdle he has to clear” is pitching back-to-back days.
May is scheduled to do that Saturday and Sunday for Syracuse, and if all goes well, he could return to the Mets as early as Tuesday in Washington.
Before going on the IL, May had an 8.64 ERA in 8 1/3 innings for the Mets over eight appearances.
