Former flashy Mets outfielder Tsuyoshi Shinjo returned to his old team in Japan, the Nippon Ham Fighters, as a manager last year, when he, in very on-brand fashion said he would like to be referred to as “Big Boss.”

He fully embraced that on Friday during pregame introductions on Opening Day for the Fighters in one of the most epic entrances you’ll ever see.

Shinjo, renowned for his colorful swagger, emerged from a box on the field with the words “Big Boss” lit up across his chest on his uniform, then ran toward the middle of the field and acknowledged the crowd.

Mind you, this opening game wasn’t even at the Fighter’s home stadium, but still, the hosting Soft Bank Hawks loved every minute of it.

A Big Boss entrance, indeed.
