Mark your calendars: baseball returns to Trenton on May 24.
Major League Baseball and Prep Baseball Report released the schedule for the inaugural season of the six-tram MLB Draft League on Tuesday, and the Trenton Thunder will host the Frederick Keys in their opener at ARM & HAMMER Park on Monday, May 24.
The MLB Draft League season will consist of 68 games, with 42 played between May 24 and July 8 before the league breaks from July 9-14 for the MLB Draft (scheduled for July 11-13, coinciding with the MLB All-Star Break). The season resumes July 15, and after 26 more games ending on August 13, the top two teams will meet in the championship game on August 15.
As part of the schedule, teams will play 14 straight games from May 24-June 6, with Monday, June 7 the first off day. From there, Mondays will be a league-wide off day.
Trenton will begin with four straight home games – two against Frederick and two against Williamsport – and their final home game will be Sunday, August 8 against Frederick, as they finish the overall schedule with four road games from August 10-13.
