Evan and Morash go at it after Morash compares 2023 Giants to 2020 Jets ruining draft slot

Evan and Morash got into a heated debate on Monday after Morash compared the 2023 Giants to the 2020 Jets, who infamously won a meaningless game to take them out of the running for the No. 1 overall pick, which was eventually used by the Jaguars to grab Trevor Lawrence.

Instead, the Jets took Zach Wilson second overall.

Evan didn't like the comparison, to say the least.

"It is November 27, and I could sit here, as uncompelling as it may be, and explain to you how mathematically, the Giants are still in it," Evan said. "I can do that. It may not be likely, but you're in it. And to compare that to one of the worst Jet teams we've ever seen, Rich Kotite would blush thinking about the patheticness of that 2020 New York Jet team. How dare you compare that?

"What was the Jets record the day they beat the Rams? They were, 0-13. You're comparing a team winning when they were 0-13 versus a team winning when they're 3-8. If you can't see the difference, I don't know what to tell you."

Morash doesn't care about the records, pointing to the fact that winning in the here and now hurts the Giants and their chances of potentially drafting their next franchise quarterback, just like the Jets three years ago.

"I'm comparing it in terms of what's best for the franchise," Morash said. "Forget the fact that they weren't winning and the team is still alive for the playoffs."

"You guys have to get out your mouth comparing the 0-13 New York Jets to the 4-8 Giants in terms of it's the same," Evan replied. "It's not the same. They were 0-13, and they won a game! And you're like, 'oh, it's the same thing.' It's not the same thing."

"Any comparison in life is not exactly the same," Morash fired back. "The point is, like it or not, and this is not to pick on the Jets, the Jets knowing where they are now, are the cautionary tale for winning a game they don't have to win. I'm sorry they are."
