Well, Ben Simmons may have just given the Brooklyn Nets some bulletin board material, if they needed it.
Following the Sixers' blowout win over the Mavericks last night and just two days before their big matchup at home vs. the Nets, Simmons was asked about facing off against Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and James Harden and company in the postseason.
"Obviously Brooklyn has a lot of talent," Simmons told reporters via The Athletic's Rich Hofmann. "But at the end of the day, there's only one ball and you gotta play defense too."
With the win over the Mavs, the Sixers regained possession of first place in the East (37-17) by a 0.5 game over the Nets.
Joel Embiid had a game-high 36 points in just 26 minutes in Dallas, as he continues his quest for NBA MVP.
Philadelphia traveled after the game in Dallas back home for Wednesday's against the Nets, while Brooklyn has not played since Saturday due to Monday's game in Minnesota being postponed in wake of the Daunte Wright shooting.
James Harden has been out for the Nets with a hamstring injury. His status for Wednesday's game against the Sixers is undetermined. Kevin Durant has been on a minutes restriction, as he just returned from his own injury.
