As the Kyrie Irving controversy continues with Steve Nash no longer the head coach of the Nets, Boomer and Gio ask the question:
Where is Kevin Durant?
The Nets superstar and face of the franchise has been mum amid the Irving drama, as Irving is no longer being made available to the media by the Nets and has not apologized for his since-deleted promotion of an antisemitic film. Why hasn't he spoken about it?
Gio says it's because Durant is still "in love" with the star he decided to team up with in 2019.
"I think Kevin Durant is wrong in thinking Kyrie Irving can help him win a championship, but he still thinks that, so he wants Kyrie on the team," Gio said. "He wanted the general manager and the coach fired. He didn't say a thing about Kyrie in the offseason. He's in love with Kyrie.
"Kevin Durant has a responsibility in this as well…he's got no problem trying to kick guys to the curb and fire people, but when it comes to this, he's silent? What?"
Boomer disagrees, and believes Durant is getting fed up with Irving's headaches.
"I think that's all a bunch of crap," Boomer said. "I think he's sick of this."
