Dennis Schroder on potential Finals matchup: 'Nets in four my ass!'

Many have hyped up a potential NBA Finals matchup between the Nets and Lakers, a series that would feature an embarrassment of riches in terms of the league's superstars, assuming they were healthy by the time that potential clash arrived.

But Dennis Schroder doesn't want to hear any trash talk from Brooklyn fans.

During a stream on Twitch, the Lakers guard responded to a fan saying "Nets in four," implying that Brooklyn was destined to sweep Los Angeles in the Finals, where the Lakers would be going for their second straight title.

"My boy said in the chat, 'Nets in four,'" Schroder said. "I told him 'Nets in four, my ass.'"

That potential series would be a dream for the NBA, putting two major markets against each other with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis all sharing the floor together. Of course, health remains an obstacle if both teams want to reach that goal. Durant, who missed nearly two months with a hamstring strain, recently returned, but Harden suffered a setback in his recovery from his on hamstring strain. Out west, James continues to nurse a sprained ankle, while Davis just got back from his own injury.

The Lakers' road to the Finals got easier with Nuggets star Jamal Murray going down for the year with a torn ACL, while Jazz star Donovan Mitchell is nursing an ankle injury. For the Nets, the 76ers look to be their toughest obstacle to the Finals, aside from their own health.

Should both teams make it to the Finals, maybe Schroder's trash talk will add another log to the fire.
