Evan is not having a good time after Nets blow it up: 'We are the joke of the league'

Evan Roberts opened up Thursday's show with his anticipated reaction to the Nets finishing the destruction of their superteam by trading away Kevin Durant, and he didn't disappoint.

The theme of Evan's rant? Brooklyn deserves every bit of trolling that's coming their way.

"There will be a day in which I can look at the wreckage and the damage and analyze and say 'OK, things aren't that bad,'" Evan said. "But here's the reality for any Net fan that wants to spin things: we were a disaster. We had a superteam, and you can blame Kyrie, Mayor Adams, Joe Tsai, pick whoever you want to blame. I don't care who to blame. Here's all I care about: we won one bleeping round of the playoffs.

"We are the joke of the league, we are a joke for every Knick fan, and you have a right to laugh and celebrate. This is what fandom is. Point at us, laugh at us mock us, do your thing. This is a top-five Knick moment in the last 15 years, and I understand that and I respect that. This is a Mount Rushmore moment for the Knick fan, probably in your entire history, and I respect that."

Like many Nets fans, Evan envisioned watching multiple championships after Brooklyn formed its big three, one that many wondered may be the best trio of talent ever assembled on a basketball court, but after just one playoff series win, it's all gone, and Evan just can't wrap his head around that reality.

"I can't get over the high of 2019 to this low," Evan said. "We had Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. We had James Harden join them, and within a year, all three of them are gone. You can talk to me all about the draft picks they got back, and Mikal Bridges…and trust me, I'll get there. But the fact that this crew won nothing? I didn't even go to the Finals! I didn't even go to the conference finals! I got the same results from Deron Williams and Kevin Garnett! What?"
