Gio: 'Great to see' Nets playing hard now that they are 'devoid of those three idiots'

The shorthanded Nets pulled out an improbable comeback win in Miami on Wednesday night, stunning the Heat despite relying on multiple players on two-way contracts to replace production from their injured contributors.

Brooklyn responded with a win, their second in a row, and Gio says the team looks like a more enjoyable team, a real team, now that Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden have left town.

"This is a team that is devoid of those three idiots, and are playing their asses off," Gio said. "Which is great to see."

Jerry agrees, and believes this brand of team basketball is a refreshing change of pace from the drama of the superstar era, which came to an end last season. Sure, this team has its limitations, but the brand of basketball feels more enjoyable.

"They were down by 16 points in the second quarter, 15 points in the third quarter, and they got guys named Armani Brooks and Trendon Watford making big shots," Jerry said. "They got a guy in [Mikal] Bridges, as opposed to what we saw in recent times, plays every damn night."
