It was his fourth game of at least 50 points of his career, which put him in elite company — tying Hall of Famer Larry Bird for the most 50-point games in franchise history.

It is not the first time Tatum has found himself alongside Bird in the Celtics record books. Last April he dropped 60 points against the San Antonio Spurs to tie Larry Legend’s franchise record for points in a single game.

Tatum shot 16 of 30 from the field, including 8 of 15 from beyond the arc to lead the team in a win over a Nets team that saw Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant together on the court for the first time since Jan. 12.

As for the Nets, Durant finished with 37 points and eight assists while Irving — who was ridiculed by the TD Garden crowd most of the game — had 19 points and six assists as they try to cling onto the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
