Kevin Durant exits Nets game vs. Heat with left thigh contusion

Kevin Durant's season hit yet another hiccup.

The Brooklyn Nets star left Sunday's game against the Miami Heat in the first quarter with a left thigh contusion and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.


Durant was driving to the basket for a layup attempt when Miami's Trevor Ariza appeared to bang his knee into Durant's left leg, which left the Nets star in pain.

Durant hobbled around for a bit while being evaluated by trainers and exited the game.

The 32-year-old has had a rough first season back after missing all of last year while recovering from a torn Achilles.

Sunday was Durant's fifth game back after he was sidelined for nearly two months with a hamstring injury.

The extent of Durant's latest injury is unclear.

Durant entered Sunday have only played 23 games this season, but has continued to play at a high level when on the court. He is averaging 28.1 points, seven rebounds, 5.4 assist and 1.3 blocks per game this season.

Durant has seen his minutes gradually increase each game he bas been back as well, playing 30 minutes against the Hornets on Friday night. He's scored 17, 22, 31 and 35 points, respectively, including a double-double with 11 rebounds against Charlotte.
