The Nets could have one of their superstars back in the lineup this coming week.
Head coach Steve Nash said Saturday that Kevin Durant, who has been out since Feb. 13 with a hamstring strain, has a "high probability" of returning to the Brooklyn lineup at some point this coming week.
Durant, now out more than seven weeks, was initially thought to have a mild hamstring strain before further scans showed further damage. Durant said on Friday that he felt he was on the cusp of making a return to the first-place Nets.
"I feel great," Durant said. "I feel like It'll be soon that I can be back out there with my teammates…mainly just working out and trying to stay ready, keeping my stamina up and sharpen up my skills so I can be able to transition back smoothly."
Durant was averaging 29.0 points per game before the injury, but has played just 19 games this season and only one in the past two months.
Nash said Friday that he didn't anticipate Durant playing on Sunday against the Bulls or Monday againt the Knicks, but if he is to return this week, it could be Wednesday night against the Pelicans or next Saturday against the Lakers, both home games.
