Kevin Durant on James Harden trade: 'I'm happy we've got guys that want to be a part of this'

Kevin Durant was on national TV picking All-Star teams with LeBron James just hours after news of the James Harden-Ben Simmons trade broke, so of course he was asked about the deal during a selection process that saw Harden picked dead last.

"I'm excited for our team," Durant said. "Looking forward to finishing the season out with this group. The playoffs are right around the corner, so we gotta fast track into getting used to each other. But I'm excited. I think everyone got what they wanted."

Durant was also asked by Charles Barkley if the team needs a traveling psychiatrist given all the drama that has surrounded Brooklyn since the big three was formed, from Kyrie Irving's vaccination status to Harden's reports of unhappiness and a desire to be traded. One of those has since been addressed, but Durant doesn't seem to be losing any sleep over it.

"What do I gotta deal with?" Durant said. "I'm making millions of dollars playing basketball, man. I love my brothers regardless."

But Durant did seem to indirectly address Harden's apparent unhappiness in Brooklyn when he was asked about the players that would be arriving as part of the deal, one that shipped Harden away from a team headlined by Durant for the second time, a decade after he was dealt from Durant and the Thunder.

"I feel like we've got versatile players, so we'll have to figure out what works for us," Durant said. "But I'm just happy we've got guys that want to be a part of this."
