Kyrie Irving doesn’t know what’s going to happen with James Harden and the Nets over the next four days, when the trade deadline arrives, but based on his discussions with Harden, he doesn’t seem motivated to leave.
“How all those media plants start going around with rumors and stuff like that, I really do not concern myself with that,” Irving said after Sunday night’s loss to the Nuggets. “The few conversations we’ve had, he’s been really committed. We just hold him to his word. But when we go out to play games, we can’t think about that.”

Head coach Steve Nash told reporters on Sunday that the team isn’t trading Harden, who has been in the middle of trade rumors, specifically with the 76ers as a potential destination, for over a month. But even as reports of Brooklyn being open to discussing a trade with Philadelphia dominate headlines, Harden is still a Net, and his teammates will continue to operate under the assumption that it will stay that way, at least for now.
“We’d love to have him in the lineup, but we want him at his optimal and healthy…and we let the rest take care of it,” Irving said. “But who knows? Who know what’s going to happen?”
