Kyrie Irving ruled out for game seven, expected to return if Nets advance

The Nets will unsurprisingly be without their superstar point guard in a winner-take-all game seven on Saturday.

Head coach Steve Nash told reporters on Friday that Kyrie Irving is out for game seven against the Bucks after leaving game four with a sprained ankle. Nash said Irving was still getting treatment and had "miles to make up" in his rehab process. He had stayed behind in Brooklyn to rehab while the Nets were in Milwaukee for game six.

Irving, according to earlier reports, was expected to be out the rest of the series, and Nash confirmed it on Friday. But he also added that should Brooklyn advance, Irving is expected to be available for the conference finals, and that his injury isn't a season-ending one.

Irving was averaging 22.7 points per game while shooting 47.2 percent from the field this postseason. James Harden, who was played through an injured hamstring the last two games, is expected to play alongside Kevin Durant and company on Saturday night, with the Nets' season on the line.
