Nets star Kyrie Irving's unseemly history of boosting controversial conspiracy theorist Alex Jones resurfaced on Wednesday.
Jones, a conservative media provocateur, was ordered to pay nearly $1 billion to the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary massacre, after he was found liable for damages after years of propagating lies that the tragedy was a hoax.
In September, Irving turned heads when he posted on Instagram a 15-second clip from an 2002 video of Jones claiming that a "tyrannical organization calling itself the 'New World Order'" was plotting to take over the world and release "diseases and viruses and plagues upon us." Irving titled his post, "Never Forget - Alex Jones Tried to Warn Us."
Irving has famously opposed coronavirus vaccines, and was limited to just 29 regular-season games in 2021 after refusing to get vaccinated in compliance with New York City protocols for athletes and entertainers.
Unfortunately for Irving, the news of Wednesday's verdict against Jones made him the butt of more than a few jokes.

I hope Kyrie is paying attention. 👀
I'm just glad Alex Jones has a friend like Kyrie Irving to stand by him through this tough time, offer a shoulder to cry on, get zooted on supplements, talk about lizard people, whatever he needs.
