Report: Nets sign New Jersey product DeAndre' Bembry to one-year deal

The Nets continued to add to their depth and bolster their defense on Friday, reportedly signing DeAndre' Bembry to a one-year deal.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the 27-year-old is on the way to Brooklyn after playing last season with the Raptors, where he appeared in 51 games and made 12 starts, averaging 5.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game while averaging just over 19 minutes.

Bembry was waived by Toronto earlier this week to clear cap space.

A former first-round pick, Bembry was taken 21st overall by the Hawks in the 2016 NBA Draft. He attended Saint Joseph's in college and attended The Patrick School in Elizabeth, New Jersey. His best season came with Atlanta during the 2018-19 campaign, where he appeared in all 82 games and averaged 8.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
