The Nets have a fairly easy assignment against the lowly Magic on Friday night, but it just got a little more difficult with the absence of Kevin Durant.
Brooklyn listed the superstar as out for Friday's game due to a right shoulder sprain, marking the first time Durant won't take the floor with the rest of the starters this season.
Durant has been playing at an MVP level for the Nets so far this season, averaging 28.6 points per game while shooting 56.7 percent from the field and 42.7 percent from beyond the arc.
Durant had been playing through shoulder discomfort and receiving treatment, he said on Sunday, but it hadn't seemed to bother the 33-year-old up to that point. But he put up a season-low 19 points in a loss to the Warriors earlier this week, but bounced back and put up 23 in a win over the Cavaliers on Wednesday, marking the 15th time in 16 games that he has scored at least 20 points.
