The Nets announced on Tuesday that the franchise is moving forward with their "partnership" with Kevin Durant, despite the superstar reportedly telling owner Joe Tsai to either part with GM Sean Marks and head coach Steve Nash, or to trade him.
Tiki and Tierney heard the news break while on air during Tuesday's show, and BT promptly ripped the Nets for the optics of the move.
"That is useless," BT said after Tiki read Brooklyn's statement from Marks. "That means nothing. That is pathetic."
It certainly could lead to some awkwardness when the team convenes to prepare for the upcoming season, considering Durant recently called for the head coach and general manager's jobs, which BT can't get past when it comes to the most recent developments.
"Let me get this straight," BT said. "Kevin Durant meets Joe Tsai in London, weeks before that demands a trade, then goes to London and reiterates his decision and desire to leave, and now all of a sudden there is a more collaborative partnership."
"The guy just told you, Kevin Durant just told you to your face that if you don't fire the GM and the head coach, I want no part of this. And you're bringing him back and saying it's a partnership? That is weak. That ain't working."
