Boomer and Gio went off the air shortly before the Nets announced on Tuesday that they were continuing their "partnership" with Kevin Durant, so the two had to take some time during Wednesday's show to try and make sense of it all.
"In what other world does something like that happen?" Gio said. "We need a press release telling you that you're actually gonna play for the $48 million they're paying you?
"It's insane, and it's insulting to the everyday fan, but we're so numb to it now that it just doesn't matter."
Durant, after months of trade speculation and reportedly giving an ultimatum to ownership about firing Sean Marks and Steve Nash or trading him, all sides met and will remain together.
"The Nets fan is gonna celebrate what happened...they're gonna love it," Gio said. "They're gonna have another shot at a championship because they have Kevin Durant."
Boomer had to cut in with his own outlook.
"Until it all falls apart because Kyrie Irving wants to take two weeks off in the middle of the season," Boomer said.
