Gio isn't buying Kyrie Irving apology, wants Nets to fail more than any team ever

Kyrie Irving issued his long-awaited apology on Wednesday night, while announcing that he and the Nets will each make separate donations of $500,000 to the Anti-Defamation League after he promoted a film filled with antisemitism last week.

Safe to say the gesture wasn't enough to change Gio's mind about Irving.

"They'll hide behind the statement, they'll hide behind the ADL as they get them involved, they'll hide behind the money which is getting distributed to charities, which is good. If I'm the ADL, I'd do the same thing," Gio said. "But we're just going to turn the page, and Kyrie is going to go on about his business, and I don't think he learned a damn thing from this.

"This is exactly what the playbook is. Everyone involved in this thinks the fans, customers, and the rest of the league are just idiots, will accept this medicine and move on…that is exactly what's gonna happen. Nobody is gonna do anything about this. This is exactly what I was screaming about yesterday, about real accountability."

Now, Gio is just hoping that the Nets continue to fall flat on their faces, but in the worst way possible.

"I've never wanted a team to fail more in my life than this group right here," Gio said. "They've failed miserably up to this point. I want to see them go down in flames. Every single one. Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Ben Simmons, Sean Marks, Joe Tsai, I want this thing completely burned to the ground, and I want to dance on their ashes."
