Nets relentlessly trolled after big three era ends with three trade requests

Nets fans awoke Thursday morning to the reality that their last, and biggest, superstar on the roster had been traded, bringing an end to perhaps the greatest failure the NBA has ever seen.

The team's hyped big three: James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and now Kevin Durant, had all been shipped out after all three had requested a trade. Durant was the last to go early Thursday morning, being traded to the Suns after requesting his second trade in the last eight months.

It was hardly how the franchise expected things to go after signing Durant and Irving in 2019, then trading for Harden to form a dynamic big three, one that was expected to compete for multiple championships. Instead, Brooklyn has just one playoff series win to show for its big splash, and several headaches along the way before it all came to an end.

When it did come to an end, NBA Twitter was armed and ready to roast a franchise that will live on as one that had three of the sport's brightest stars, only for them all to want out.
