Report: James Harden to make Nets return Wednesday night

The Nets have just three games left in the regular season, but their star guard looks to be on his way back just in time for a playoff tune-up.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, James Harden plans to make his return for Brooklyn on Wednesday night against the Spurs, which will be his first game since April 5 after suffering a hamstring strain.

Harden wasn’t expected to miss more than a month, but suffered a setback in his rehab process just as he was nearing a return, and hasn’t played in the Nets last 18 games. Brooklyn went 10-8 in that span.

The final three games will be a chance for Harden, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant to share the floor to prepare for the playoffs, something the star trio has only been able to do seven times this season. That will depend on the health of Irving, who suffered a facial contusion on Tuesday night.

Harden returns having averaged 25.4 points and 11.0 assists per game since being acquired from the Rockets earlier this season. The Nets are currently two games back of the top spot in the East, and one game ahead of the Bucks for the second seed.
